(August 22, 1932- ) Born in McDonough, Georgia. Graduated from Clark College (B.A., 1955). Worked as teacher and librarian in Jonesboro, Georgia (1955-57); obtained master's in social work from Atlanta University (1959). From 1962 to 1967 worked as field supervisor for United Church of Christ and Southern Christian Leadership Conference, based in Atlanta and New York; assisted Septima Clark in citizenship education program. Taught at Atlanta University (1967-68) and during the 1970s and 1980s at elementary and middle schools in Atlanta and Decatur, Georgia; later moved to Milwaukee where she continued to teach through the 1990s.
