(July 27, 1932-January 25, 2001) Born Robert M. Duke in Bolling, Alabama. Served in U.S. Air Force during Korean War. Attended Pensacola Junior College and later Florida State University in Tallahassee, receiving degree in journalism (1958).Was reporter at Montgomery Advertiser, Tallahassee Democrat, Pensacola News-Journal, Albuquerque Tribune, and papers in El Paso, Texas, and Birmingham, Alabama; worked for Mobile Press-Register, 1964-69. Beginning in 1969 was press secretary for Alabama Senator James Allen; later worked in the Scripps-Howard Washington bureau, as a financial writer and editor for newsletter division of American Banker-Bond Buyer, and as housing editor for CD Publications, a Maryland newsletter publisher. Died in Takoma Park, Maryland.
